Biography

Desireé Wheatley is an associate director specialising in corporate governance and fiduciary services with over 19 years of experience in the financial services industry in the British Virgin Islands. Desireé acts as a professional director for multiple entities and oversees the firm’s corporate director portfolio. She leads a team providing a wide range of services, including directorships, company secretarial and board support, nominee shareholders, safe custody and escrow, and bank account services. She has expertise in complex client cases of all sizes, cross-sectoral management, and specialised services.

Her board appointments consist of a host of entities including funds, managers, private investment companies, trusts, and crypto/digital assets for high net-worth individuals and corporate/institutional clients in major jurisdictions, including Cyprus, Hong Kong, London, Mauritius, New York, Panama, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.

Desireé joined the Corporate Governance department in 2017. Prior to Harneys Fiduciary, she spent a decade with TMF Group and served in various roles focussed on corporate governance and company administration and management. She began her career in the banking sector in client and accounting services for FirstCaribbean International Bank and Scotia Bank.

She is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and holds industry-standard management certifications.
