Leonie Taber is a compliance manager in our Cayman office. She provides a broad range of compliance consultancy services, including acting as AMLCO/MLRO/DMLRO for a wide variety of businesses, advising on risk assessment and regulatory inspections and drafting manuals, policies and procedures. She provides guidance and services relating to the anti-money laundering regulations of the Cayman Islands.
She started her career as a corporate finance lawyer in London, training with a “silver circle” firm and then moving to a major US firm. Her work included a number of high-profile M&A, private equity and funds transactions. After several years, she transitioned in-house to Morgan Stanley (London) as counsel to their EMEA investment banking division. Her primary function was executive risk assessment (from a legal, reputational and compliance perspective) of IBD engagements in accordance with MiFID and associated regulations. Leonie also has offshore legal experience, having worked in a private equity and funds team in the Cayman Islands.
Her breadth of experience and perspective makes her uniquely placed to provide a fresh, rigorous, and professional approach to compliance services.
